We also sometimes have used landsailers for sale on the NALSA for sale page. Most of our landsailers are manufactured by Airtrack in France.

Landsailing is an exciting sport that goes back in history for centuries. There are suggestions that landsailers first appeared in ancient Egypt.They are documented in Ancient China and clearly depicted in illustrations as early as the 1500s. They seem to have developed independently in Europe about the same time, often as a way to transport troops along the coast.

By the 1800s various landsailers appeared all over Europe and The US, many designed to run on rails. By the early 1900s recreational and racing landsailers had appeared on both beaches in Europe, AUstralia and New Zealand, and on dry lakes in the US and Australia. That trend continues today with landsailing on every continent on either beaches or dry lakes. A few smaller landsailers have been developed to sail on parking lots. Closed airports are also used. Landsailors meet for numerous racing events every year
